Need a Facebook authentication code using an authenticator app like our Password Manager?

If you’ve enabled two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Facebook account, you’ll need a 6-digit code to log in. Here’s how to generate a code using the Password Manager:

Step 1: Set up 2FA for Facebook. If you haven’t added Facebook to your Password Manager yet, follow these steps:

  1. Log into Facebook on a browser or the Facebook app.

  2. Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Account Center.

  3. Choose Password & security > Two-factor authentication.

  4. Select your Facebook account and enter your password.

  5. Select the authentication app option.

  6. Facebook will display a QR code — this is what you’ll use to link Facebook with your Password Manager.

  7. Open the Password Manager, tap the + icon to add a new account, or open an existing item and tap Edit in the top right.

  8. In the “Two-Factor Authentication” section of the item:
    – Tap the scan icon to scan the QR code, or
    – Manually enter or paste the secret key.

  9. Save changes, and a 6-digit code for Facebook will now appear in the Password Manager.

  10. Take that code and enter it into the field Facebook provides to verify and finalize the pairing.

Step 2: Get a code when Facebook asks for it. Once Facebook is added to your Password Manager:

  1. Open the Password Manager.

  2. Look for the Facebook account in your list.

  3. Use the 6-digit code shown — it refreshes every 30 seconds.

  4. Enter this code when Facebook asks for your login code.

ℹ️ Good to know

  • No internet needed to get the code — the app works offline.

  • If you changed phones or reset your device, restore your Password Manager app and vault to get back your codes.
