How do I add the Authenticator App Widget on Mac?
If you’re using the Authenticator App on your Mac, you can add a widget to your desktop or Notification Center for quicker access to your 2FA codes, no need to open the full app every time.
To set it up:
Click the date and time in the top-right corner of your screen to open Notification Center.
Scroll to the bottom and click Edit Widgets.
In the widget panel, search for or select Authenticator App.
Choose your desired widget size.
Click the + button next to the widget to add it to your Notification Center or Desktop.
If needed, drag the widget to rearrange it within your view.
Right-click the widget and select Edit "2FA Codes" to choose which accounts appear.
Tap Choose to see your available 2FA accounts.
Select the account(s) you want to display in the widget.
Tap Done to finish. Your 2FA codes will now appear in the widget.
🔐 Note on security: The accounts from the Authenticator App widget will be stored in the keychain and will be accessible without entering your password. Please keep in mind that the security of the keychain is managed by the device's OS.
