How do I pair the Browser Extension with the Authenticator App on Mac?
With the Authenticator App Browser Extension, you can quickly autofill your 2FA codes right in your browser, making secure logins easier than ever.
❗ To use the browser extension, you must have the Authenticator App for Mac version 3.15.0 or later installed.
Steps to pair the extension with the app:
Open the Authenticator App on your Mac and unlock it.
Go to Settings, select Browser Extension, and enable Allow Pairing.
Click Pair New Browser Extension – this opens the scanner window.
On your browser (Safari, Chrome, or Firefox), go to: authenticator.2stable.com/extensions
Scroll to your preferred browser and click Install to add the extension.
Once installed, a QR code will appear in the browser.
Use the scanner window in the Authenticator App to scan the QR code.
After successful pairing, you’ll see a green message: “Ready to AutoFill 2FA Codes.”
ℹ️ Note: The Authenticator App extension icon on your browser (Safari, Chrome, or Firefox) will also update from a grey shield with green checkmark to a blue shield with white checkmark.
